* Visited four countries (Thailand three times, Laos twice, Cambodia twice and Vietnam once)
* Slept in fifty-two beds
* Shed weight but ate fantastic food, especially prawns and never got sick
* Motorcycled in Northern Thailand, Laos and Vietnam
* Made new friends, learnt a great deal and felt welcomed throughout SE Asia.

* Highlights: Alan successfully dodging the bullets in Phnom Penh, riding an elephant, swimming in the Mekong, seeing endangered Irawaddy dolphins, surviving numerous dodgy motorbikes, crazy drivers and so-called 'roads', learning how to cross land borders without too much greasing of palms; joining up with Archie, Liz & Barry or
