p at 6:00 and get dressed and take a walk before breakfast. We walked behind the large rock outcropping behind the lodge. Saw a troop of Vervet Monkeys up on the ridge then an old safari bus (or military vehicle) abandoned in the woods. There was a large pond with several ducks. Looked like some were walking so it must have been pretty shallow. At about that time the phone alarm went off to signal we needed to return for breakfast. Mar 14, 2006 - Matobo NP

Next day we went on a game walk in Matobo National Park to see some rhinos. They have 13 black and about 30 white rhinos in the NP which is about 400,000 km square. Our guide Colin showed us how to look for tracks and poo which he could tell how old they were and things like broken branches etc to get an idea of where the rhinos are. We followed the trail for quite a while but lost the tracks in the dry sandy bits in quite long grass, but it was ok because we managed to find a pair of rhinos anyway!! Apr 18, 2003 - Matobo

Off this morning to the city of Bulawayo a 4 hour drive then on to our camp site near Matobo National Park get settled into bungalows had some lunch then on a drive to the park. Then back to our camp where Grant had dinner ready fixed from our truck, a few beers and calling it a good day of traveling.
