Aug 16, 2010 - View of the Falls

Since we are heading today to the Mana Pools area, there was no time for a morning game drive so we slept in… until 7 am and enjoyed a leisurely morning at camp. Mid-morning we took a ride to the local air strip to catch our chartered flight. Our first stop however was at Victoria Falls so our lovely pilot gave us quite a nice view before we landed to drop off some fellow passengers at the Vic Falls Airport. Oct 30, 2006 - broken down in bandit country

30/10/06 Today was supposed to be a short drive to the lower Zambezi NP for canoe training in the afternoon. In the morning we had 2 punctures okay bad luck but we still would make it on time i occupied myself in one town by going to the post office and sending Jess' bday pressy. i love going to post offices in Africa you come face to face with each countries bureaucracy and its officials always interesting but it is important to set aside at least one hr to post one item. Sus' BIG TRIP

Jul 11, 2006 - Mana Pools and Zambezi 4 day canoe trip

Fly from Vic Falls to lake Kariba, full of crocs now and cant swim there unless in a cage, land at Ruckamichi Camp right on the Zambezi river, first sighting of Elephants, walking thru camp, 2 game drives, sighted eles, zebra, porcupines, fish eagles, hippo, impalla, water buck, buffalo. saw big bull shke the tree and also chase me back to my room, had a young bull also chase our vehicle. They are so big and proud, some calves playing in camp was special as well. The canoe trip was the highlight of the trip,I would recommend it to any one...
