Feb 12, 2011 - Puerto Colombia (Choroni) via Maracay

Took Metro to bus terminal (La Bandera Stop) where we got on bus to Maracay at 9:30am (they go every 15 in). Countryside up thru quite dry but still some green mtns...the way some trees are blooming I think spring is just around the corner here. Highway is 6 lane, divided the whole way. Once over mtns. the land looks very dry...long stretches along the hiway are burned sometimes more than 50' out from road, crops (mostly bananas) look stressed for water. In bus terminal it is hot, dry...search for bus to Puerto Colombia turns up a long line...

OK we make our way to Choroni - the best part of the travel was this... get on to this bright blue bus like a small verison of american school bus but a beautiful blue colour - taxxy devil sticker up the front big subwoofers... Okay we exit the town we travelled to and enter the mountains... Now startys the fun my friends... Aug 18, 2007 - Choroní

Després d 'una nit al bus, confortable pero més fred que el congelador del nostre combi, hem arribat a Maracay, punt de partida del nostre cap de setmana a Choroní. Podem escollir anar en taxi o en un bus tunejat ( no tenim la foto però la posarem doncs no tenia desperdici). Per suposat triem el bus i cap a choroní que falta gent, a ritme caribeny i rodejats de venezolans que van de camping a la platja (Així que la tranquilitat que ens van dir......). El poble de choroní i puerto colombia son petits amb cases petites de color pastel i val...
