Jun 6, 2011 - June 5, 2011: Day 2-498 miles: Wisconsin

We both slept well and get up early (6:00AM) to begin Day 2. Cool and comfortable morning. We are on the road by 7AM after cereal. Looks like a pretty day. We pass a herd of buffalo next to a herd of longhorns. In Seymour, IN we pass a huge Walmart Distribution Center. See lots of manufactured housing on HWY 64. Corn fields, a popcorn silo and then lots of wind turbines. Jan is amazed at the 100's of turbines on both sides of the road. Clouds roll in. We stop in Remington, IN for gas ($4.05/gal) and since it is close to 11:00AM, we decide...

Sep 23, 2009 - Mirror Lake State Park, WI

We started the day with a stressful drive through Chicago, but made it through without incident. Then we were off to the beautiful rolling hills of Wisconsin farm country. So many corn fields, but we never did find a roadside stand! We stayed at another state campground and enjoyed the evening, despite having no fresh corn on the cob to grill. Maybe we'll find some cheese tomorrow instead.
