This is a quick update to let everyone know we have safely arrived. Our drive was only about 130 miles. We are in Marinette, Wisconsin, right across the bridge from Menominee, Michigan. We had planned to leave Door County yesterday but had to change our plans. It rained so much a lot of the peninsula was flooded and the power was knocked out for a lot of people. Jul 20, 2013 - Sudbury, On to Marinette, WI

Adam's apartment turned out to be pretty warm, I think we both got about 5 1/2 hours sleep. We left Sudbury about 8AM under clear skies and a comfortable 18C degrees, the ride went very well. Traffic was relatively light, we followed a BMW 1200RT who was not afraid of pushing the speed limit, we let him lead the way and attract any un wanted radar traps. At about 10 we stopped in Blind River Ontario for a break, the lack of sleep was starting to catch up on us, a half hour break was all we needed to give us a second wind. We arrived in...

Jul 30, 2012 - On our way to Wisconsin

Monday, July 30, 2012. We arrived late this afternoon in Marinette, Wisconsin after a great ride across the upper Peninsula of Michigan. As we rode along the north shores of Lake Michigan on this cloudy windy day, we saw that nothing deters vacationers from swimming in the lake. Burrrr. We felt compelled to enjoy a Pastie for lunch, a ‘Upper’ traditional lunch, one that in the early years, the miners took with them everyday. It was delicious, a combination of beef, pork, potato, carrot, onion and a flaky crust. Ummh good.
