We drove a short 126 miles to Alma Center from DeForest. While here we: - Attended the Warrens, WI Cranberry Festival. Sixty percent of US cranberries are grown in Wisconsin; the majority in this area. We learned it takes 3-5 years for a new cranberry bed to produce a crop. Originally cranberries were called craneberries because people thought the berries looked like the sandhill crane heads. We finally left Lazy Days campground. It was a nice place but we were glas to leave. It was 40 degrees when we woke up. WE saw Buffalo as we rode along and a few more windmills. Tom has discovered McDonalds Cinnamon melts. That's bAD. tHE CHEAPEST GAS IS $3.35. We stopped at a rest stop along the way below Black Riv e falls. Walked to a scenic overlook. This was the site that had the largest gathering of passenger pigeons n the workd back in 1871, 138 million. By 1917, the last passenger pigeon died in the Cincinnati Zoo. Boy do we murder...
