Jun 12, 2014 - Seeing some old autos

Slept in this morning, had a good and relaxing breakfast. It is so wonderful to be able to have your own bed with you, and to be able to fix up what you want for breakfast, just like at home. Especially surrounded with the beautiful forest that we see out our windows. For the most part, it has been a little cool even during the day, so not a lot of sitting around outside, but we do leave the door and windows open for some fresh air. This morning I am heading to the LeMay Family Collection of automobiles. They have collected some 3000 cars...

Jun 11, 2014 - Ft Lewis

Up early this morning as this is a moving day. Again not a long distance to go, but it will be through Seattle so I know that traffic will be bad, and it was. I took a picture of the RV park and our area (photo). The drive down was full of traffic and the freeway surface is very rough, so it was a bumpy ride. We arrived at our destination at about noon, which is Ft Lewis army base. What a beautiful base. I am completely dumbfounded as I have never seen an army base that even looked decent. They normally take the worst land that nobody...

Nov 3, 2013 - 4th District Conference

Again, a restful night despite the wind and some rain. Today was a little more settled. We met at an educational facility across from the high school. To get there, you have to circumnavigate Joint Base Lewis-McChord. The meeting went well and we actually concluded at a pretty decent time for those of us needing to travel some distance. However, I spoke too soon. After making real good time and arriving at North Bend for a planned meal stop, I realized I didn't have my house keys. I finally confirmed I had left them at the hotel, so I had...

Jul 19, 2012 - At cousin Greg Johnson's

Spent two days in Spanaway at cousin Greg's. We went for Uncle Garvin's 99th birthday(dad's brother). We had not seen Uncle Garvin for 23 years. I don't remember when I may have seen Greg last. At least 40 years! Between Uncle Garvin and my dad who died at 93,I can see where I got my genes. I'm hoping for 100! Both Dad and Garvin were very active into there 90's.

May 28, 2011 - Spanaway, WA - Lunch With Friends

(Ron Writing) This morning we left Toppenish, WA and headed west on US-12 over the Cascade Range at White Pass (4,500’). The ski runs at White Pass just closed about a week ago but there was still over 4’ of snow on the ground. US-12 runs through the small town of Randle, WA located a few miles south of Mt. Rainier. Our friend John spends some time in the spring and the fall at an RV park in Randle since he like to go mushroom hunting in this area. This weekend his son was there visiting him and we all met for lunch at a local restaurant....
