Jun 17, 2018 - Snohomish, WA
Father’s Day today. Traveled from Mt Rainier National Park to Snohomish to visit Bob’s Navy buddy George, his wife Mary Lou, and their beautiful daughters Christina and Jackie, Mark and their beautiful new grandson Warren. Also finally got to see George’s incredibly cool ‘52 Chevy pickup truck, Wilbur. Our hosts set us up on their awesome property with a place to park our rig. We enjoyed a fantastic day at their great home and had an terrific meal. It was so much fun getting to share this special day with them and catching up on their lives...Jump to full entry
Apr 26, 2016 - Snohomish Wash.
April 26 (Tue) we left Oregon and drove to Flowing Lake, WA to meet up with our son Neil and girlfriend Connie and my sister Gina. Flowing Lake #9 was a big site and perfect since it was away from the lake and most of the other campers. On the weekend the campground is full of people coming in just for the weekend and most of them are there to sit around the campfire and party. I was a little disappointed in the spot because it was totally in the woods and it was about 10 degrees colder than outside the woods (52F in a.m.). There also was...Jump to full entry
Apr 19, 2012 - Hi honey, I'm home!!
As we pulled into the driveway Thursday Nancy said in her best ‘Dorothy’ voice –there’s no place like home. Our last day on the road turned out to be the longest we traveled – 400 miles. We shared the driving and Nancy took on what I think was one of the most difficult stretches. I 90 from Ellensberg to SR 18 - over the pass, through construction, over very bumpy surfaces, and passing slow trucks creeping up the steep grade. Her comment when she let me back in the drivers seat? Now that was fun!! I can say with pleasure that she did a...Jump to full entry
Jan 23, 2012 - Waiting to leave
Our original plan was to leave by January 21st. However, Mother Nature decided we should stay at home a little longer and enjoy some snow, frigid temperatures, and maybe a power outage or two. We both agreed, after we were in 70 degree weather, that that was just fine. We enjoyed the beauty of winter, the challenge of power outages, and the extra layers of clothing needed to keep warm.Jump to full entry
Jun 18, 2011 - Lunch with Doug & Robin
Snohomish is such a neat little town full of antique shops, so we tried to go in everyone. I did find a Wesmorland bowl to purchase at a price we could afford. It was fun to be with Harolds son and daughter-in-law, even if we didn't care for the sandwich place we chose to eat at. Still not sure why we waited for the food.....It was extra nice that Doug wanted to spend some time with his Dad since Dads Day was tomorrow. Playing catch-up is not easy I can't remember happeningsJump to full entry
May 21, 2010 - A visit with Joe and Dee in beautiful Snohomish, Washington
We left Squim after our few days in Victoria and took a Ferry over to Whidbey Island to head to Snohomish, Washington. Putting the rig and car on the ferry was actually pretty easy. Bill was thrilled to get that behind him. We actually stayed in the motor home for the ferry ride over to Whidbey. It was a small ferry and the ride only took about 40 minutes. The ocean was very smooth that day, thank goodness. The guys that run those ferries truly know what they are doing. It is amazing how many cars fit on these ferries. There were several...Jump to full entry
Jul 16, 2007 - Still at Home
We are still at home and finishing packing trailer. We plan to leave tomorrow morning. Larry and Toby will not be going with us on this trip. Larry goes to "Tails-A-Waggin" Dog Inn in the morning and Toby will stay at home. This is our first Rally so we don't know what to expect, so thought it would be better to not take the pets on this trip. We plan to spend our first night in Welches, Oregon. We are to arrive at the Rally between 7am-12pm on Wed. We will be updating our journal everyday and adding photos. Hope you enjoy our journal.Jump to full entry
