Sep 26, 2011 - Palouse River – Columbia River Cruise

After leaving Clarkston, Washington, at 11 p.m., we spent our third night on board the National Geographic Sea Bird cruising back down the Snake River, back through Lower Granite and Little Goose locks and dams. We awoke on our fourth day to a beautiful Washington sunrise close to the Palouse River, a tributary of the Snake. The Sea Bird anchored in the sheltered mouth of the Palouse. Motorized, inflated rafts called “Zodiacs” were lowered from the top deck of the Sea Bird as were several kayaks. Four couples had signed up to paddle around...
