Dec 20, 2015 - Mukilteo, WA

We made a Santa run to Seattle area to drop off some gifts for Jesse and Justin. While there we went to see the new Star Wars Movie on IMAX. Nice! Before heading home the next day, we stopped at Mukilteo for some Ivars Chowder and Clams. I did a little bird watching and we watched the Ferries for awhile until we decided we better get going home. I guess I took too long. We hit rush hour traffic perfectly. It took us three hours to go from Everett to Tacoma which should have taken an hour or less. Yikes. We arrived in Scio pretty late that...

Jan 20, 2011 - Bari Reef Dive

Woke up with a sore back and a red face (Thanks to family (Can't pick your family)). Dave went to the dive shot to get our tanks filled so we could dive the Bari Reef #30 which is about 1/2 mile away from the house. On our dive we saw a bunch of Garden eels, Turtle, Tarpon and a very cool Tug Boat Wreck. (See video here) We also went towards the north to scout out a couple more dive sites (Oil Slick and Ladania's Leap) The Oil Slick dive will require a leap of faith or going down a ladder, We will be taking the leap of faith. We were hit...

Jan 19, 2011 - My First Dive in Bonaire

Did not sleep to well last night, my bed is a king but is missing the top mattress, so I was not to comfortable last night. Woke up about 8:00 AM just in time to see a very large cruise ship come into the harbor.Had some breakfast and headed of to the Caribe Inn dive shop to get out air for diving today. Brad and Kyle went for a dive early in the afternoon and I had to wait until my 24 hours since I landed in Curaçao so I don’t get the bends which is to much nitrogen in your blood. As we were waiting for Brad and Kyle to finish their dive,...

Jan 17, 2011 - Off to Bonaire

My alarm went off at 3:30 AM today, got up looking forward to the days events. My cab picked me up at 4:15 AM to take me to SeaTac airport to start the first leg of my trip to Bonaire. First leg will be Seattle to Dallas, TX. It will take about 3 1/2 hours to get to Dallas. I landed in concourse A and had to get to concourse D. Dallas has a very cool Skytrain that you use to get from terminal to terminal that is all run by computers. I had forgot how big the Dallas airport was. Second Leg will be Dallas to Miami, FL. I arrived in Miami...

Aug 27, 2010 - Old friend

Hello Anita and Ceil, Guess who we saw today! Garth, remember him. When we got up Jim goggled him, hoping to find a phone number but got an address instead. So, we put the address into the GSP and follow directions to Mukilteo (pronounced with a silent l) and he was home. Garth takes us on a tour of his city, the counrtyside and his farm. He also takes us past the Boeing plant which is HUGE! Mukilteo is a terminal for ferries to Vancouver Island and they have a pretty waterfront park. We enjoyed lunch and supper with Garth and camped that...

Jul 22, 2009 - Mukilteo, WA - Day of R AND R

DAY SIXTEEN - July 22/09 Today is a day for much needed R & R. We tried to sleep in today, but ended up waking up about 6:30 a.m. I guess today is garbage pick up day, so they start about 5:30. David got up and chatted with Dean just before he left for work. David and I walked down to the coffee shop and had breakfast and a latte, then went for a walk down to the lighthouse and ferry dock. The wind was cool coming off of the ocean, and a bit windy. We are going to catch up on laundry today and go to the farmers market that starts at 3 p.m....

Jul 21, 2009 - Long Beach WA to Mukilteo, WA

DAY FIFTEEN - July 21/09 This morning we woke up to fog once again and cool. Typical west coast weather. We went to Lauries Homemade Breakfast place where they have a "kitchen sink" omelet, which consists everything including 12 eggs! The breakfast was very good. Dean got lost, couldn't find the breakfast place, but we did here him go by two times while we were inside waiting for him. After breakfast, we continued north on the 101 hwy and then cut across the Olympic Peninsula heading towards Port Townsend. There was a bit of construction...

Apr 13, 2007 - Madrid - Chicago - Seattle

Got up at 4:45. Put the TV on, to find nothing but American infomercials with Greek subtitles - that seemed weird - how much work does that take? Our taxi was there at 5:30, and we were off to the airport. The driver didn't make much conversation - it took us about 45 minutes to get there. We checked in for our Iberia flight, then went to the Blue Island Cafe for capuchinos and chocolate croissants. Went through security with no problems, and on to our gate. The plane was an A320. The sun was just rising on a day that would last 36 hours...
