After a busy, busy three week interlude which including sharing in the wedding celebration of Joey and Dena, we headed west again. This time we flew in to Portland to meet up with the Helperns. This trip west was must quicker but a lot more cramped and not nearly as scenic as our ride on the bikes. Aug 27, 2016 - Montesano, WA - Friend's Landing Campground

Our trip from Long Beach to Montesano, WA was a short 82 miles but still took two hours due to the constant twist-turny navigating around Willapa Bay on US 101 causing us to slow to 30 mph in a great many places. There wasn't a whole lot to see on the journey but we have included a few pictures anyhow! We are staying at Friends Landing Campground which is really about halfway between Montesano and Aberdeen, WA. We have one of the few, if not only, 50 amp sites of the 18 sites in the campground. Jul 16, 2012 - Lake Sylvia SP

July 12-15, 2012 An hour after leaving home, we were pulling into our drive-through camp-site at Lake Sylvia State Park, a few minutes north of Montesano. This is a cozy state park along the eastern shores of Lake Sylvia. The park has thirty-three camping sites. Four of them have electrical hook-ups. Ours didn’t. Nor did the sites of friends Paul and Sue, or Bud and Judy. True to emerging tradition of this camping group, we enjoyed chatting around the campfire after dinner.
