Today was a visit to the Benton City - Richland Post in Benton City. I always enjoy a visit to this Post since the people are nice and they serve decent meals. There was pretty good attendance from Posts at this meeting and I got a chance to say "hi" to everyone who attended. I seemed to be received well. I also got a an unexpected $100 donation for campaign expenses from a good friend at that Post. I was blown away by the gesture. He's been after me for a number of years to run for the office, so I guess this was his way of backing that...

Aug 1, 2011 - Columbia Gorge to Benton City, Washington

After a week in the Troutdale area, we were ready to roll again, even if it was only a short hop to Benton City, Washington. Benton City is in southeastern Washington, in the middle of a very rich farming area. We were eager to find peaches and more cherries. We traveled on I-84 today, following Highway 30, only closer to the Columbia River. I-84 is an interstate, so traffic was not toodling along. There is no time to toodle on the interstate. Aug 1, 2008 - Benton City, Wa

Took scenic Route 12 today, stopped for the night early at Benton City, Wa. Drove the tri-cities(Benton City, Richland, Keenewick) picked up some groceries and back to the RV Park(Beach RV Park). This is the heart of wine country. Todays drive took us through wheat fields-all you could see for miles-, cherry,& apple orchards, and wineries.

Jul 13, 2007 - Benton City, Washington - Grass Fires

R-Another travel day. Now we are really headed home. We expect to be there in slightly over two weeks but we did start traveling east. We hit the road about 11:00 this morning for a short drive to Benton City, Washington. This is very close to the Hanford nuclear works, which is about 5 miles north of here. Dad worked on the construction of the site back during the Second World War. We lived in various places around here but as I was only 2 or 3 years old, I have almost no memories of being here.
