Jan 11, 2021 - Car sleeping
1-11 Monday ‘Woke’ about 10 times during the night but finally had no choice but get up. Micky Ds was just a block away. McMuff and just cleaned bathroom were in order. After a short visit with a very polite policeman enquiring about our ‘health’ we drove to gas up ($2.02/gal) and we’re back on I90 at 8:30am. Traffic bogged down a bit after Snoqualmie Pass as we headed S. thru Tacoma and then back up N. thus avoiding the ferry system which we are told is a bit unreliable. Arrived at Dan and Lys’s home about 3:30 pm...rain most of the way...

Jan 9, 2021 - Birthday Cabin
I had a wonderful 39th birthday again this year. :-) Jerry went all out and rented a wonderful cabin in the mountains in Packwood, Washington. We were only a short drive to the White Pass Ski Resort. The drive up to the 4,500 elevation top was incredible. The snow started falling when we got to the top. We enjoyed playing in the snow and watching people skiing before heading back down. We saw a lot of elk all over town, this is a cool mountain town and we highly recommend it to all our readers.

Nov 26, 2020 - Happy Thanksgiving!!
Happy Thanksgiving to all our family and friends. We hope you had a wonderful holiday. We had a great time staying at the Quinault Beach Resort in Ocean Shores. They have rooms with a huge window view of the ocean. We wanted to see the waves from the Pacific Storm this week. We were not disappointed. Some of the waves were up to 25 feet according to the news. :-) The hotel also has three restaurants inside that are still open We enjoyed dining out for the holidays, it was fun and very relaxing. We hope all our readers had a wonderful...

Oct 29, 2020 - Unpack...repack....go!
Yes, it seems like we just got home and got unpacked, doesn't it? To us too. And here we are on the road back to Yuma, Arizona. We got up at 0600 and got underway (on Nuclear power) at 8:50. Thankfully no glitches, the morning went really well. But lots to do at the last minute to secure the house. Turn the water pump off, as we are on our own well. Turn off the propane. Set the thermostat for inside the house, to around 50 so the pipes don't freeze if it gets really cold. And put a trickle charger on the Mini Cooper. Spike does all of...

Oct 26, 2020 - Last Trip in 2020
Millersylvania State Park October 21-22, 2020 Shortly after we'd returned from our trip with Mark and Lin, we got an email from Mark. He invited us to join them for a short, impromptu camping trip to Millersylvania State Park. After looking at our "busy" social and activity calendar (?) I made reservations for the same site we had our last time at Millersylvania. By the time this short trip rolled around, the weather was much more "Fall-like" than it had been in August. It was lightly raining when we pulled into our campsite. The...

Oct 21, 2020 - First 3 weeks on the road in 2020
Well, I have been on the road for 3 weeks now and these weeks have been really great visiting my kids. I stopped in Wenatchee and saw Kurt, Qari and Mitch (Granddaughter Rachel is in Mexico). Had a great time, went on a hike with Kurt and Mitch up in the Entiat Valley. Next I stopped over on the west side in Kent and visited Christie up in Orting, Grandkids Talon and Navy are both back in school, one in Seattle and the other in Montana. Super nice visit with her and her puppies, poor Harlow (the youngest) broke a toe while we were there....

Oct 12, 2020 - Vickie & Sam Visit
We had a wonderful visit with Vickie and Sam. We only had four days to visit, we made the best of them. :) We are so spoiled, we usually have them for weeks at a time in the summer but the virus changed everything this year. We also had a horrible Pacific Storm roll in right when they arrived. We had high winds and sheets of rain falling. We made the best of every ray of sunshine we got in between the rain. We took them on a tour of the Quinault Lake Lodge, they loved it. Sam wanted to fish in the beautiful lake but the rain would not...

Sep 26, 2020 - We made it home safely!
Up and underway at 0900 leaving Kennewick. The weather is cool outside, so long pants are necessary. The wind is blowing a bit. But God is good and answered all your prayers. The wind was not as bad as yesterday and aside from traffic and some rain showers we did fine. We finally got home about 1600 and got parked and the minimum stuff unloaded. I ran down to Belfair and got us some pizza for dinner. No more driving for Spike for awhile and no more early wake up calls. Thank you for all your prayers for us. We felt them and so appreciate them!

Sep 25, 2020 - A windy trip into Washington
We had such a fun time at Tom and Margie's house yesterday, in Ontario, Oregon. We got there about noon and it is ok to park on the street with the Rv in their neighborhood. So we just put the 2 inside slides out and left the big slide in as we were taking up a lot of room already. We had a nice lunch together and then got to go on a tour of their town and go to a local history museum. Margie's family was featured prominently at the museum. It was a real live history lesson as Margie could answer any of our questions for us. And we got to...

Sep 16, 2020 - Ferry Rides to Southworth
Manchester State Park September 15, 2020 If our original itinerary had happened, we’d have been at Icicle Creek RV Park near Leavenworth on this day. Instead, we drove from Larrabee State Park, going back through Burlington for the fourth time on this trip, and got onto I-5. In Seattle, while crossing Lake Union on the Ship Canal bridge, we were unable to see lake beneath us. Of course, the smoke obliterated any view we might have had of the Seattle skyline and the iconic Space Needle. We could have taken I-5 through Tacoma and gone north...

Sep 15, 2020 - Chuckanut Drive in the Smoke
Larrabee State Park Sept. 13-14, 2020 It’s thirty-six miles from the Concrete/Grandy KOA to Larrabee State Park. Leaving the KOA, we went back through Burlington for the third time in four days. We took scenic Chuckanut Drive. Normally we’d have had lovely views of Samish Bay through the roadside trees. But, again, because of the heavy smoke, we only saw “gray.” It was a one-hour drive between campgrounds that day. Larrabee State Park is just south of Bellingham. This is the oldest state park in Washington. It’s between Chuckanut Drive and...

Sep 13, 2020 - Backtracking up the Skagit River
Concrete/Grandy Creek KOA Sept. 11-12, 2020 A couple of days earlier at the Howard Miller Steelhead Park, it had been difficult getting reservations in the Washington State park system in our area. Mark had discovered a KOA in nearby Concrete. I made online reservations for that property. It was a forty-five minute drive from Deception Pass, back through Burlington, past the small hamlet of Concrete, to this KOA. It seems to have been a Thousand Trails property, back in the day. KOA seems to have bought into it, creating a unique...
