Jan 14, 2014 - Wallisville, TX

Hi all from the” lone star” state of Texas Driving to New Orleans we were East, North and camped South of the Mississippi. Leaving from there we headed towards Baton Rouge we crossed the Mississippi and are now West of the Mississippi. We have added Texas to our map – that took up a huge chunk of the map! It will take 2 weeks for us to cross the state as we have several cities we are planning to visit. We are in Wallisville, TX camped along Turtle Bayou. Very pretty and relaxing-no alligators. There were several guys fishing from the dock...

Jun 7, 2013 - Baton Rouge

Thur., June 6th – Today we made an unplanned overnight stop in Baton Rouge. Seems I forgot to grab the extra key for the new truck….so…we were able to make plans for our pastor and his wife to bring it down on their way to visit family here. We found a park close to the Mississippi River on the outskirts of town where we spent a leisurely day exploring another one of Louisiana’s big cities. We had to try the seafood gumbo and po’ boys crawfish sandwich at Dempseys. Tonight we’re staying glued to the weather channel watching hurricane Andrea...

Mar 15, 2012 - Turtle Bayou

Jan 25, 2012 - Entered Texas

We had coffee with Jaye and Cecilia, they are going a different direction now. We carried on Hwy 10 to Wallisville, Texas, between Beaumont and Houston. Cloudy, hot and windy. It started to rain in Beaumont, sometimes steady and then would just hammer down, the sky was grey changing to black rolling clouds, lots of thunder and lightning. Not very good for driving but the traffic on the freeway slowed down when the rain was heavy. Staying at Turtle Bayou RV Park.

Jan 2, 2010 - Our stay in Corpus Christi is over and we are headed to Biloxi

We have finished our stay at the Sea Breeze in Corpus Christi and are once again on the road as we head towards Biloxi, Mississippi. The last month flew by pretty fast. We did enjoy ourselves and the stay. The weather could have been nicer according to Cynthia. A bit windy a few times but other than that and of course a little rain, it wasn't bad at all. The last day in Corpus Christi the weatherman said that the month of December was the 12th wettest on record. They had almost three inches of rain. Gives you an idea how dry they normally...

Jan 29, 2009 - Wallisville, TX. Turtle Bayou RV park

Overnighting here in TX! we finally made it to the state we want to be in for a couple of months. This par is a convient place for an overnighter, but that's all. The over night pull-throughs are close to I-10 so there's some road noise. didn't get a chance to see the rest of the park. Nothing much to see or do that's very close from what I could see.

Dec 1, 2007 - Wallisville, Texas (Turtle Bayou RV Park)

December 1 - 2/07 We decided to stay on I-190, because when we went to Lake Charles the I-10 was very rough. We stayed at Turtle Bayou RV Park on a river, which is home to a few alligators. I didn't feel right walking near the river. It would have been a nice campground, but the noise was constant and loud due to the I-10 above us; and the bridge that crossed over the river. The owner was very nice and helpful. It was a football Sunday and a cleaning day. I wanted to do some laundry, but the laundry room was full. I noticed that Jazz had...

It is raining at the moment but we knew it would be as a low front is moving across Texas - hopefully it will have cleared up by tomorrow but it is still warm at 80 degrees - so no complaining from us!! steve is having a sleep and I must...
