Dec 25, 2016 - Merry Christmas and a Road Report

Merry Christmas Everyone. We hope that you have had a wonderful Christmas and wish you a happy, safe and, above all, a healthy New Year! Christmas Day As you saw in the last post, we left Red Bay Friday AM with anticipated arrival at Saguaro RV Park in Benson, AZ on Monday. Friday and Saturday went well covering around 380 miles on Friday and about 400 on Saturday. We landed at the Cowboy RV Park in Ranger, TX Saturday. This park takes Passport so the price is right. It isn’t a place you will want to spend much time however. Don’t stop here...

We spent two nights at an RV Park in Ranger, Texas. While there we visited Bill's cousins in Breckenridge. It was a fun reunion with Bill's cousin Bernice, her daughter Becky and husband Ray. While in the area we also checked out Eastland, Texas where Bill's grandfather Boone once lived.

Mar 14, 2012 - RL RV Park

It was nice to have a couple of days off the road in Lubbock and the Elks park was a very nice place to relax. We got caught up on laundry, washing the car and other mundane chores. This morning we headed out of town southeast on U.S. 84 and then picked up I-20 east just west of Abilene. The day is overcast but it is in the mid-70s and humid. We had stopped at a Passport down the road which was really bad, went on to this new park which was excellent and cheaper. It pays to check things out!

Day 124 Sunday - Left early & headed down South to Abilene. Changed plans a bit & headed back towards Dallas with the intention of going back to the Texan RV Ranch RV Park at Mansfield. That’s the park where we parked up the rig over Xmas. I think this is the first time for months that we haven't been surrounded by mountains or deserts & we are seeing spring flowers along the verges now.

Dec 25, 2007 - Ranger, Texas

We spent Christmas in tiny Ranger Texas. Things are so quiet there that when Butch took a walk to the nearest gas station to get a newspaper, several people alerted the police, who stopped him on the side of the highway to see if he was okay. The RV park that we stayed at was part of a ranch. There were horses and cowboys, and a dog who seemed to be in charge of the whole operation. He welcomed every visitor and terrorized the horses when he got bored.

Dec 31, 2005 - Stopover in Ranger, TX

Today is Saturday, December 31st The temperature last night dropped down into the mid 30's. It was comfortable sleeping weather albeit a bit on the chilly side inside the trailer. We rose early and were underway by 7:10 a.m. Breakfast this morning was at a Cracker Barrel in Arkadelphia, Arkansas -about a 30-mile drive from Benton. We were back on the road by 8:30 a.m. heading for Texarkana. Along the way we passed through Hope, Arkansas and the campground where we stayed last year. The morning drive was pleasant with moderate traffic and...
