Sep 14, 2012 - Flat Land

Again this is just a travel day. We drove 340 miles today. We know we are to take it slow but when Donald gets headed towards something he wants to get there. My brother, George, had his surgery today so we are wanting to get to his house to spend some time with them. We should be there tomorrow. I am so glad to see some Flat Ground. I have had enough Mountains for awhile. Also thought I was coming to Texas for some warm weather. It has been rainy and cool here today. Feb 24, 2011 - Post, Texas

This little town of about 3,700 in west Texas southeast of Lubbock has an unusual history. It was founded in 1907 by cereal magnate, C. W. Post, as an experiment in economics and sociology. Having made his fortune in Postum, Grape-Nuts, and Post Toasties and needing a break from the stress of running his company in Battle Creek, Michigan, Post came to Texas. May 19, 2007 - Post Untoastie

We originally were keeping to our 2-2-2 plan (200 miles or less, arrive by 2:00 p.m., stay 2 days), but we decided to scrap that and stay just one day in Post, TX. It was cloudy and rainy, in fact the entrance and exit to the RV park had big puddles. We unhitched and drove into town which is rather cute. It was actually started by C.W. Post (of the cereal fame) and has a nice downtown area with some great old buildings. We ate lunch at the Sonic - first one we had seen in a long time, gassed up ($3.29 a gallon!), and watched a movie. It was...
