Nov 13, 2016 - Marshall Texas - Day 3

Our last day in Texas. Lori, James and the girls (Kaci age 20 and Kara Age 14) came over to visit with us. As always I love visiting with them. They are a great family. The girls brought over their horses because they have to train them. Kaci is working with Snap Chat the blond horse and Kara is working with Smashed in Paris the brown horse. They are beautiful animals. Everyone loved the Indian Head painting I painted for Kaci and they also love Missy’s beach scene with palms. These girls are so sharp and I love being around them. I have...

Better homes surrounded by nice fences and many with iron gates. Drove to Canton Tx and checked intoTexas Log Cabin RV Park. Drove thru driveway to find a little shed with office sign on a post. Began to wonder if this was the place for us when out popped a very nice lady with a "how you all doing". It happens that they had a tornado go thru...

Feb 7, 2013 - Ark-La-Tex

We have been hearing so much on the news in Shreveport about the Ark-La-Tex, it got our attention. I did a Google search and found it so interesting, we decided to drive to Marshall, Texas, just so we could see where the states intersect. :-) The towns near the junction didn't have a lot to see, but I got a few photos anyway. I will add them later when I get better Sprint service. We will be leaving in the morning heading to the Texas Coast. I am pasting information about the Ark-La-Tex below: The Ark-La-Tex (also known as Arklatex,...

Dec 27, 2009 - Getting out of ‘Dodge”

After we awoke, Mary Anne and I talked about how we were going to get out of “Dodge.” She suggested that I take the car and scout things out. The reason for the “scouting” was because Tulsa reportedly had only fifteen snow-plows. Until that morning, when I finally saw a snow-plow on the street near the RV park, we hadn’t seen any snow-plows, nor any evidence that any had been around. It was inconceivable that a city the size of Tulsa didn’t have either the equipment, or the plan, to remove snow from freeways, streets, and ramps. Anyhow, I...
