Oct 12, 2011 - And the rain came...
My day got off to a very early start - in the wee hours - when the thunder and lightening work me (well, mostly Luci and her bark)up. You get quite the show when you have a skylight (air vent) right above your bed! Oops! then I remembered a small window that was left open. So, I got up and shut it to find only a few drops had made their way in. A stop at the bathroom before I went back to bed only to find that the open air vent in the ceiling was open and their was a lot of water in the floor, on the counter and on the toilet. Nothing like...Jump to full entry
Oct 9, 2011 - Rainy Sunday ...Finally!
Woke up with a trailer full of friends sleeping in to stay dry. A stormy night brought a good rain to a very thirsty area. We studied Scripture together and began packing everyone up...except me. I began getting things ready for my "Blessing of the Trailer" and hamburger cookout for this afternoon. The ground quickly absorbed the night's rain and everything looked like it was going to be OK. I drove to Walmart to pick up the hamburger patties and buns (I waited until the last minute just in case it rained; I don't have anywhere to store...Jump to full entry
Oct 7, 2011 - Friday Brings Unexpected Circumstances
We started our late morning with a delicious breakfast. Wonderful bacon, eggs and "skillet toast." We received news that our pastor has been admitted to the hospital. Responsibilities from the Ballpark Concession Stand and, now, Sunday service are changing the circumstances of the weekend. Another church friend joined us for the evening meal. We had a great time together, but as she went home, a couple of others went home as well to be available to help with White Rock Friends lunch tomorrow and the Ballpark. As planned, on Friday evening,...Jump to full entry
Oct 6, 2011 - A Day at Tawakoni
My morning was filled with preparations for the Women's Retreat. Another member will be on her way soon. I do not have much of an idea about numbers for the weekend, but as I have been reminded, those that attend are the ones that are meant to attend by the Lord. We all relaxed and enjoyed having time to be outdoors - beautiful setting. The park is fairly empty at this point, but that won't last long since all of the campsites are taken for the weekend. Our friend arrived and as she was working to set up her tent, she realized that the tent...Jump to full entry
Oct 5, 2011 - Moving From One Park to Another with Dallas in between
I have lots to do today so an early start was in order. Up about 6:15 did not get me out of Benbrook all that early. I do not have a take-down routine established yet for this trailer. It took me much longer than I anticipated. I am so afraid I will leave something open, up, extended, unhooked, or unlatched. I got it all and was on the road about 8:30. I did not have any traffic problems as I drove across Fort Worth and through Dallas. First stop - leaving the trailer at Explorer USA to get some matters taken care of - mostly, the...Jump to full entry
Aug 25, 2009 - Travelling Through Texas
We just spent a quick couple of hours in Roswell, before we headed to our next destination. We spent one night on the road, in Benson, Arkansas, before arriving at the Thousand Trails Bay Landing Preserve located in Bridgeport, TX which is about 50 miles northeast of Ft. Worth. We only spent three nights here, and it rained the whole time with more rain predicted, so we were glad we were moving on. On Wednesday, July 29th, we headed to Point, TX to another Thousand Trails Preserve which is located on Lake Tawakoni which is about 65 miles...Jump to full entry
