One of the most pleasant activities today was my visit to the Antique Rose Emporium in Independence. Not only are the gardens beautiful but they also smell so fragrant! G. Michael Shoup, owner of The Antique Rose Emporium, started in the nursery business in 1976 as a grower of woody ornamentals for the landscape industry and retail centers. He soon lost interest in them and began to look for plants native to Texas that might fill the same niche. He and his staff began looking for wild plants. Jan 17, 2001 - 1994 Camera Club Field Trip April 9 – Burleson and Washington Counties

Today my camera club took a field trip to Burleson and Washington Counties in hopes of getting some good wildflower photos. However, it was a very windy day, so we had trouble getting clear photos. It was impossible to do any close-ups. We were disappointed that the wind was so strong all day, but we just made the best of it. Better luck next time!
