042908 So the next morning we packed up again and headed out for Lake Towakoni in Texas. The drive was easy and the roads level. Lake Towakoni is about 70 miles east of Melissa, which is where we will be staying near Dallas. We decided to stay a couple of days here more for rest and relaxation then anything else. Lake Towakoni RV Park is near Greenville and is somewhat remote with no civilization nearby. Sulfur Springs was the nearest town of any size. They did have a Wall Mart with a diesel filling station where we could get diesel fuel...

On our way to Mckinney, Texas, to get new shades put on our RV, we stopped one night in a Wal-Mart parking lot in Greenville, Texas. As soon as we parked, we noticed hundreds, if not thousands, of birds perched on wires, trees, fences, and roofs all over the parking lot. The photographer from the local newspaper came by to take pictures, because nothing like this had never happened before. By the next morning the birds were gone. We figured that birds on their way south like to stop at Wal-Mart just like RV-ers do.
