Jan 15, 2020 - January 15, 2020 – Aransas Pass to Giddings, Texas

January 15, 2020 – Aransas Pass to Giddings, Texas I was on the road by 5:15 this morning. I got to the Chinese Embassy by 9:30 and picked up Sarah’s passport. I went on to Livingston where I got the absentee ballot issued resolved. I filed a Federal as opposed to State Absentee Ballot request. By doing it this way, they can email me the ballot. After I mailed Sarah’s passport, I started heading west. I took the backroads and had a really nice drive. I stopped in Brenham to see the World’s Largest BBQ. It is 75’ long with 24 sets of...

Oct 24, 2013 - Glad Its Over

Left Kinder at 9:15 AM and of course got turned around right off the bat. We stopped at McDonalds for coffee and missed our road sign. We finally got back on track and headed west again on 190 to 12. We crossed into Texas at 11:15 at a little town called Deweyville. Jim and I neither one slept last night - like a couple of "kids" (using that term loosely), we were anxious to get started. When we got to Giddings, decided to call it a day, stop early and just relax. (174 Mile drive)

Oct 9, 2008 - Day 47--Yom Kippur

Today is the day that we are personallly keeping Yom Kippur. We understand that many of you are observing a different day, but we are all just doing the best we can, right!? Anyway, I thought I would give you all an update on our mechanics. It seems that we have had a problem for some time that kept looking like something else. There was a valve spring that broke and so one of the valves wasn't working properly. This made it seem to be running rough which several mechanics thought was an ignition problem. As we drove further, one of the...
