One last visit before heading home. We drove to San Antonio to visit with Diana's sister Mary and her hubby Eric. I35 South was under construction. Miles and miles of construction. It was a long day but we made it. Dinner was waiting for us when we got there and a pool to relax in before bedtime. What more could you ask for on a long day of driving? They have a Cocker Spaniel named Brody. He and Sugar got along fine. I have to confess that Sugar wasn't the best house guest. I think she is home sick. Saturday we drove to the 'Hill Country'...

May 30, 2013 - Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch

This morning I was up early to take a little trip. In yesterday’s “Austin American-Statesman” there was an article about rare twin reticulated giraffes born on May 10 at the Natural Bridge Wildlife Ranch (www.WildlifeRanchTexas.com) and I was excited at the opportunity to see them. The ranch is active in breeding programs for many threatened and endangered species from around the world. My only disappointment was in not seeing the male (Nakato); he was hiding in his barn. However, I got a good look at the mother and female baby (Wasswa)....
