We had just passed the Texas State Line on our journey this morning, when my cell phone rang. I do not talk on the cell phone while driving, so Marilyn answered and it was my friend, Dave, calling from Wichita, KS. He wanted to let me know that a King Air 200 turbo-prop aircraft had crashed into one of the buildings I had worked in when I worked at Flight Safety International. Jan 19, 2013 - Welcome to Texas!
Well, we have finally made it to Texas. We are stopped at Pinchers RV park and restaurant in El Campo, TX. Mike figured that with a town name like that - there had to be a place to camp! Even more funny, I was on the internet trying to find a park and Mike had pulled off the highway and into a parking lot. I found this place on the internet but there were not any directions on the website. I called and the guy who answered asked where we were. Dec 6, 2011 - On The Road
We had a short visit with Myrna this morning before heading south to Baytown, TX, which is on the east side of Houston. Glen chose this Speedco location to have the annual oil/filter changed on the motorhome and generator. Using the trusty GPS we found the store, waited our turn. Glen was satisfied with the quality of the work. Whether the GPS didn't know the correct highway or we didn't follow directions, we did end up on a toll road which required an EZ Pass...no cash accepted.
