Sep 30, 2015 - Wrap Up

Now that we are back home, we are unloading the RV, doing some maintenance and washing the beast. Some interesting statistics: 7176 miles traveled 82 days on the road 44 different campgrounds/RV parks; not including days in Grand Canyon 5 moonless, dark nights star gazing in the Grand Canyon What a trip! Now thinking about our next adventure.

Sep 25, 2015 - Home

It is great to be home - heat and humidity. We have been so used to the low humidity during our trip that we are uncomfortable. Today was a relatively long drive. We left Inks Lake and headed east to Georgetown where we hit SH130, the toll road south. This route was a little longer, but we missed a lot of small towns and the rolling hills. Buc-ees in Luling, was a mandatory stop for lunch. Now if we could just find a Braum's ice cream. Traffic heading east on I-10 was moderate and we expected delays on the beltway around Houston. No issues...

Dec 13, 2008 - Houston, we have a problem!

Visited Space Centre, Houston en route from San Antonio to New Orleans ... tour included visit to mission control room for shuttle and Saturn V rocket (from Apollo missions) ... enormous! Also saw new - prototype - lunar and mars vehicle "Chariot" and details of the new space programme for establishing a permanent base on moon and travelling to Mars.

Sep 17, 2008 - The Wrath of IKE

1926 Winter Knoll Way Houston, TX Given the degree of destruction and carnage surrounding and south of the Bay Oaks area, here in SE Houston, it is almost embarrassing to report just how little damage that we have suffered from IKE's visit. As I drove into the area there were visible signs of a major event but I have yet to see any house with no roof, water damage, trees in the living room and there are no reports of injury or worse.
