Time to pack up again, do laundry and then out to breakfast with Marg & Claton. Aunty Marg bought. Now for all you aunts and uncles who might be reading this and you all should be. There is a lesson here and it is, you should all move somewhere warm and exotic. You might also want to buy us food and show us a good time. Made it to Carrizo Springs, Brush Country Park.

Feb 17, 2010 - Travel Day to Carrizo Springs, TX

We had entered the Central Time Zone just prior to our stop in Van Horn, TX so we adjusted our clocks ahead by one hour. We knew we had a long travel day ahead of us so we were up by 7:00 AM and on the road by 7:40 AM. We switched drivers often partly because our route through West Texas was less than scenic. At Fort Stockton, TX we headed southeast leaving I-10 behind us and driving through rural Texas on a two lane Texan highway. The phone rings. It is one of my nurse agency recruiters. There is an opening for an L&D nurse in Carrizo Springs, Texas. Would I be interested in going? I’m not sure. What is the hospital like? Is there housing? What is the weather like in that part of Texas? Hmmm, sounds like a good reason for a “day trip”! So off we go to Carrizo Springs (after all, it is only 170 miles away from San Antonio) to investigate the area for ourselves.
