We looked out our window last night and saw hundreds of American Avocets landing on the beach. We drove miles to visit the Brazoria National Wildlife Refuge and were happy to see THREE of them, we could have stayed home and watched from our back yard if we had known. :-) After seeing them I did a bit of research and learned there are thousands of them on Bolivar Peninsula.
