Sep 16, 2017 - Aubrey 150th Celebration

Sept 16, 2017 (Sat) I picked my mom up this morning and we went to Aubrey 150 year’s celebration. They had a parade with decedents of the founding families riding on floats. I was really surprised there were not many people there for the parade. Most of the people there were grownup so when they were throwing candy they were throwing to grownups. I felt like a kids again since I ended up with both of my pockets crammed full of candy. I was showing all the candy to my mom and sister and what do they do? They grab the best pieces and start...

Just Tripping Along

Mar 18, 2016 - A Texas weather send off!

We had a Great time visiting Lyddia's sister and celebrating our nephews birthday. The birthday celebration took place in the new BBQ in the Colony. It is called Hard Eight BBQ. Lyddia's sister, Karen helped us make some new jack pads and runner boards for our trailer. The next morning we had a storm come thru the RV park and it dropped dime size hail. Not really big enough to cause any damage luckily. It was enough to cover the ground. We are hoping this will be our only icy encounter as we head north. The neatest thing about our...

Mar 16, 2016 - It is time to head back to Montana!!!

We had a nice winter and got to see the family and friends. It all went by so fast. We enjoyed having Thanksgiving and Christmas with the kids and grandkids. Also celebrating some birthdays and attending school events. All is doing well. This past few weeks we have been busy getting everything ready to make the trip back North. We traded our 2003 Dodge 3500 dually in on a 2009 Dodge 3500 dually. We hated to get rid of the 2003 Dodge but it had 218,000 miles on it and was starting to have little problems. Besides when you are pulling your...

Oct 19, 2015 - Back in Texas

We got started about 10:00 this morning and after a stop at the dump station we got back on I30 and headed West. It wasn't to long until we started to see hints of Texas. More Texas license plates on cars and billboards with familiar advertisements. Then we were alerted by our GPS that the state border was approaching. Then the next thing we knew we were back in Texas and seeing all the familiar surrounding. As we got closer to Mckinney the traffic started to get heavier. It wasn't to much farther and we pulled into Aubrey and the Shady...

May 23, 2013 - May 23, 2013 – Aubrey, Texas to Lake Murray State Park, Oklahoma

May 23, 2013 – Aubrey, Texas to Lake Murray State Park, Oklahoma Well, so much for my plans to get on the road early! Last night about midnight, I woke up to a beeping sound. I thought at first that it was one of my water sensors, but all was well in the bathroom and with the kitchen sink. It was the refrigerator going off. It said that it had no current. Since the microwave was working, which is always the 1st thing to go off if the current is out, I couldn’t believe that there was no current. So, I reset the refrigerator and went back to...

May 22, 2013 - May 22, 2013 – Aubrey and Irving, Texas

May 22, 2013 – Aubrey and Irving, Texas Today I worked on uploading pictures before it was time to go to Irving to meet Helen for lunch. Irving is a nice little town. We had lunch at the Glory House which serves a buffet lunch at noon and does catering at other times of the day. I got there a little early and walked around downtown. I saw the old Irving Library as well as the new one. There is quite a difference between the two. I stopped on the way home to get gas in the car and to do some grocery shopping at Kroger. It is great to be back...

May 16, 2013 - May 16, 2013 – Livingston to Aubrey, Texas

May 16, 2013 – Livingston to Aubrey, Texas This morning I thought that I might have to stay another day in Livingston. I didn’t sleep well last night for no reason that I can think of. When I woke up for the 3d or 4th time at 6:30, it was raining. I finally got up at 7:30, and it was raining harder. Fortunately by 9, it had quit raining, and the sun had come out. I got the coach weighed, and I’m good. I had it out of balance on the rear axles last fall but within the weight limit. Now, I’m within the weight limit AND I have it balanced....
