Jun 16, 2007 - Day one in the Black Hills

We took the back roads from the Badlands to the Black Hills and saw so much more than along the interstate. The campground that we had planned on going to was full because of a rally this weekend so we found a great one in Custer. We are at the Beaver Lake Campground until June 24th. We can already tell that this is going to be a great place to stay. It is close to most of the atractions and a very pretty setting but not overly expensive like the KOA right next door to us. The Beginning

Jun 3, 2007 - South Dakota and The Black Hills

Today, we drove about 200 miles to Custer, South Dakota. This means we can add another state to our Map on the RV! The drive was wonderful--little wind or traffic. Schools are out in this area but the tourists have not arrived. We checked in around noon in Custer and had a light lunch. With the information provided by the RV Park, we headed out to Mount Rushmore and sights in the Black Hills. Mount Rushmore is really an impressive monument.
