Aug 4, 2007 - Badlands National Park

We departed the Black Hills and traveled through the Badlands National Park, and then stayed overnight in Pierre, SD. The Park is just an hour east of Rapid City, South Dakota on I-90. We drove Highway 240, known as Badlands Loop Road, and stopped briefly at the Cedar Pass Visitor Center. The landscape is very barren, but beautiful. Wind and rain erosion have created deep gorges and jagged ridges with rock layers of sand, rose, gold and green colors.
