The Hood River County Fruit Loop is a celebration of the rich bounty of the Hood River Valley. It was established in 1992 - consists of 30 stands and is 35 miles long. The businesses include fruit farms (apples, pears, cherries and peaches), vineyards and wineries, nut and berry farms, lavendar fields and even alpaca farms. Every place we stopped gave out free samples of everything - the bakery was the biggest hit for Bob with cookies as big as your head. I was amazed at the number of cherry varieties - they are all good. Beautiful, filling...
