Aug 11, 2011 - Day 11 Vancuver, Wa

Since we visited Redwood National Forest yesterday we took our time getting around and We headed for Vancouver, WA. I tried to get in touch with my cousin that lives in Vancouver but was unable to make contact. Didn't take many pictures today, just a few through the car window. We arrived in Vancouver about 1:30. There has been a big change in temperature. Morning temp 58 afternoon low 70's. We took today to rest and do a little laundry. Friday we have a four hour drive to Seattle. We will be there for a couple of days and are looking...

Aug 10, 2011 - Day 10 Grants Pass, Or.

We left Reno, NV. early heading north toward Grants Pass, Or. We decided to not take the interstate and that was a great decision. The drive through Northern California is beautiful. We passed things like Honey Lake and Mt. Shasta. We made it to Grants Pass before 2pm so we decided to go to Redwood Forest today. It was a two hour drive but well worth the effort. Joe did a great job of driving the very winding road. When I wasn't hanging on the the door, white knuckle style, I tried to take some pictures but was not able to capture just how...

Going, Going, Gone We pulled out of the RV park at 9:45 this morning. Had an uneventful day of driving. Made way too many pit stops so our time was a bit off. However, we did arrive at our destination at just a few minutes after 3:00 - We are parked at the Twin Pines RV Park on Merlin Rd, street, ? just north of Grants Pass. It is a very small park and we are in the last spot available. I think most of the people are here for the summer. Nice clean bathroom and shower (1 large room). They give you a key. Very interesting. We got all set up...

Jul 25, 2011 - Jet Boats on the Rogue River

From the town of Grants Pass, we took a half day trip on the Rogue River. The jet boat we rode in took lots of 360 degree turns, took us through Hellgate Canyon with its 250 foot high cliffs and marks of high water flooding, and to a rustic rural restaurant down river for a delightful supper, complete with wine and beer, homemade biscuits, cornbread, chicken, ribs, vegetables, salad and truly delicious Oregon marionberry cobbler for dessert! The entire time was well worth the cost of the trip! Fred took a lot of photos with his web cam but...

Got up this morning and finished packing and putting all the stuff where it would not fly all over the RV. Bette had us in for breakfast and boy was it good. Scrambled eggs with bacon and cheese and banana bread. I wish I could have eaten more. I will have to give that a try at home. After breakfast I loaded the fridge back up from the fridge in their garage. THEN Jimmy did a fabulous job of backing the rig out of a very tight spot onto a small two lane road with ditches. He was amazing. I wish I had pictures of it. So we left the farm and...

Jun 27, 2011 - June 27, Monday

Today the weather was warm, humid and beautiful. Jim and Krista got to spend some Daddy Daughter time. I got to pick some botanical's to be studied and pressed, and I got to do a watercolor. Billy and I took a walk around the yard, looking at all the cool plants. He has been a bad boy while we are here so it was good for him not to be in trouble for awhile. Later in the afternoon, Jim and I drove to Medford to have dinner with his cousin Jody and her husband Russ. They have recently moved from Ft. Lauderdale to Medford, Oregon. Sold their...

Jun 27, 2011 - June 27, Monday

Good Morning all! Gorgeous day here. Tomorrow it is supposed to have some kind of weird phenomenon where water actually falls from the sky. I think they called it 'rain'. AND it is going to drop in temperature about 15 degrees. I still think that the water pipeline I thought of years ago would be the way to move all this stuff from the places that have too much to the places that need it. AND a good way to get the country working. Kind of like building roads and dams in the past. Just think, AZ could just take all that water from the...

Jun 26, 2011 - June 26, Sunday (Again)

I am off the internet right now, sitting in the RV watching TV. Jim and I started out this afternoon for Crater Lake in the Camero but decided when we got to Medford that we would not have time to go there and get back for dinner. Bette was making Green Enchiladas and her FAB beans. So ... we just hung around Medford, did a few errands and had a good time. While we were coming from Reno to here, the Camero started missing and running rough. I though that we might have water in the tank, but Jim thought it was the spark plug wires. Turned...

I forgot to tell you all. Yesterday at the picnic someone brought what I called a Cornbread salad. I looked it up this morning on the net and that is what it is called. It was so good. I will have to make one. I have never heard of it before. If any of you out there have a great recipe for it, please let me know. It had broken cornbread, cheese, bell peppers, tomatoes, corn, beans and I don't know what else, but it sure was good. We had the best pancakes this morning. Cream and Peaches. OMG - Very good. Thank you Bette. I am still full. She...

Jun 25, 2011 - June 25, Saturday (Part Two)

Part Deux - Saturday Worked a little bit on my BOM (Block of the Month) appliques. Still tracing the patterns and getting the freezer paper ready. Next time I have a chunk of time I will press the sheets together, cut them out and press them to the fabric. I would love to get some of the pieces ready to applique. Probably not till we hit Portland though. I took some pictures of some pretty flowers this afternoon also. Dogwood, orange things, succulents and blackberries. Blackberries are everywhere here. They are not quite ready though but...

Grants Pass Oregon, Last night Jimmy froze off his ...... I (make that a capital I) had a quilt I had made for the RV and it made me just toasty. However, we did open up another blanket this morning. Love sleeping with the windows open so out comes the warm stuff. Jim and his daughter Krista are in Medford at the Costco. Since I have Billy and would have had to sit in the parking lot anyway, I decided to just stay and enjoy my alone time. Everyone is gone but me, 6 dogs, goats, etc. Very peaceful here. A car goes by every so often, but no...

Jun 24, 2011 - June 24, Friday

Thursdays page is on my computer and I am using Jim's right now so that will be coming at a later day. Yesterday we drove from Reno to Grants Pass Oregon. We are here. It is beautiful and it is cold this morning. Woke up to low 50's with all our windows open. Billy of course was the warmest as he was way under the covers. We have a 350 mile drive, fairly uneventful. I drove the Camero and Jim drove the 5th wheel. We will be here for a few days and then head to Portland. Just wanted to let you all know that all is well. The RV is sitting on...
