Days 252 - 254 of The Big Trip Another lazy start, on the 11th,and we were on the way to drive the 70 miles to our next destination, which was to the outer banks of North Carolina. We had reservations at The Refuge on Roanoke Island and arrived to find an almost deserted RV park. Most of the spaces are leased on an annual basis, with a few for transients and there were only a few of us. It was off season. Nov 25, 2012 - Roanoke Island and the first attempted English Settlement

Saturday Nov 24 Well, I think that the turkey is all digested now – just in time for “turkey re-run”! After a whopping 52 miles we arrived at our new campground, The Refuge, on Roanoke Island in the Outer Banks. The CG is nice, a good place to park it for visiting the upper Outer Banks but is a bit pricey. Fortunately they now have winter rates ($40/day). After setting up, we drove over to Fort Raleigh.
