Nov 8, 2015 - Robert Elliott

We met Robert at the Rocky Mount Farmer’s Market just after we arrived in NC. We hit it off right away. Robert is a Marine (never a “former” Marine) who gravitated back to the farm that he grew up on with his Aunt & Uncle. He is very active in Wounded Warriors, helping veterans become farmers who use “sustainable” farming. We have enjoyed his succulent chicken that are allowed to roam the farm, none better; great pork ribs, sausage, chops & ground port; free range eggs; Shiitake mushrooms; Turkeys, like the chickens are free to roam the...

When I laughed, coughed or sneezed I would hold it tightly to my chest to help alleviate the pain from my healing sternum.

All of our efforts ended up not only benefiting My Sister's House, but the Salvation Army and Goodwill. We feel very good by all we gave away to charity and a lot to family and friends.

We traveled to North Carolina and parked our 5th Wheel at Rock Creek Campground, This is where we started our full-time journey two years ago. It was great seeing Billy and Earlene again (they manage the campground). We did spend some time seeing friends. Raymond & Sandy, Geri, Gene & Leona, Art & Susan. Reggi got to visit with the Red Hats, the group she founded. We could not see everyone; however, we will be back in NC later this fall.
