Oct 4, 2007 - What a different day.. Boone, NC. Mile marker 191.9

It rained during the night and was foggy when we left our campground this morning and got back on the Parkway..... About a mile later we saw the "Welcome to North Carolina" sign but it was pretty foggy so I didn't get a picture.... Our first pull out was an awesome sight with a mixture of fog and rain but as we went further we wondered if we should turn around and go back for the day... We decided to forge ahead about 20 miles to the Visitors Center at Doughton Park where we could find out what was ahead for us. There was also a picturesque...

The Beginning

Aug 25, 2007 - Race Day!

The big day had arrived - and boy was I excited! Andy, on the other hand, seemed rather subdued. He doesn't say a lot so I'm still not sure what the problem was - maybe he was just hungry. We stayed up late last night watching TV and drinking beer so were in no desperate rush to get out of bed. This suited Andy perfectly, of course! We'd returned 'home' from exploring the local area and, after some searching for the remote control, we tuned in to discover that there was live coverage of the Busch race. We'd missed most of it. Never mind....

Jan 12, 2001 - 1985 May 4 - Triad Photographers' Guild Wildflower Minitrip – Blue Ridge Parkway

Today I joined a group of photographers with the Triad Photographers' Guild for their day trip to Rocky Knob Recreation Area in the Blue Ridge Mountains. It was a wonderful trip with like-minded people. First, we visited the famous Mabry Mill and then hiked a nature trail.
