Dec 11, 2016 - Pilot Mountain Holiday Hike

Last Sunday, we headed out for our annual holiday hike at Pilot Mountain. Sandy and I left a little early and to get a waterfall on the way. Near Yadkinville, we got off US-421 and drove just a short ways to the pull-off for Shore-Styers Mill Park. It was quite cold this morning, but just a short walk to the waterfall. Right past the gate, a short path led down to the base of the waterfall. Although only about 10 feet high, it was quite scenic and rather impressive to be so far east of the mountains. Jun 8, 2012 - Auto pilot

A travel day as we left Justin and Gwen's and headed north west. We are on our way to Kentucky for a 10 day NOMADS project and need to be there Sunday. Overnight at a nice State Park in Pilot Mountain NC. It is great to be in the woods and this park is very woodsy. No hook ups but that is what our camper is made for so we are not roughing it at all. Going to drive up to the summit of Pilot Mtn this morning then taking in a 19th century working farm. There is a great joke about working farms with our daughter Collins and Justin Orilio....
