The following year (2004) we hit the trail again beginning where we had left off the previous year. Our good friend, Herb, rode with us to Newfound Gap Road and drove our car back to Nashville. The plan for this trip was Newfound Gap in the Smokies to Damascus, VA a distance of about 250 miles. Again, we had the month of September to hike. Jun 12, 2006 - THE LOST SEA

We packed up and headed for North Carolina. We stopped at Mayfield Dairy for a factory tour. They make milk and ice cream and let us watch how they made it. Before the tour we were able to try samples and vote for our favorite flavor of four flavors. Maddie liked the Blueberry Pie Ice Cream, Jared and Grandpa likes Moose Tracks Ice Cream. I liked Peanut Cookie Dough Ice Cream. The kids liked to see how they made the containers and how they put the milk in the containers. After the tour we each got a small ice cream of our favorite.
