Aug 15, 2010 - Mt. Gilead Museum
Our last outing while we were still in No.Carolina was a visit to the Mt. Gilead Museum. The museum is a home once owned by Avery & Gertrude Ausley. The home is now cared for by the local Historical Society, they offer guided tours or you can walk about on your own (we chose to do our own thing). There are many photos in the home of Mt. Gilead residents dating back several years. If your ever in the area, its worth a visit.

Aug 7, 2010 - Pisgah Covered Bridge
Out for an outing with Joyce & Bill, we took in the Pisgah Covered Bridge. As we understand it, this is actually a replica, but still we enjoyed seeing it. After the bridge they took us to one of their favorite eateries.....the Pik N Pig. Its located next to a small airport, so we watched the planes land & take off. Turned out to be a nice afternoon.

Aug 2, 2010 - Visiting with Family in No. Carolina
We left Tennessee & headed for a visit with family in Mt.Gilead, No. Carolina. My sister Joyce & her husband Bill reside off of Lake Tillery. Our plans were to take in a few sights while there (my sister is a great cruise director). Pete & I actually stayed at the Norwood Campground (in the town of Norwood & located across the lake from Joyce & Bills home). The campground is in a wooded area, needs some TLC but we did get a pretty roomy spot.
