We woke up in the morning well rested, showered, and packed to resume our trip. I took Marty out for a quick walk then came back to the kitchen to see Anne and her fiancé dressed and ready to go to work. I noticed a Keurig maker and helped myself to a cup of coffee – Anne had told us to make ourselves at home while we were there. I also noticed a streusel type cake on the counter that was ½ gone beckoning to me. I cut a piece for Ali and myself and boy was it good! We shared a third piece then off we went to Harpers Ferry and the next leg...

Jun 30, 2011 - Huntersville, NC

We traveled from Mt. Solon, VA to Natural Bridge, VA via US 11. This is the road through the Shenandoah valley that was replaced by interstate 81. The drive was beautiful and very peaceful. It was like driving through a post card. Right up to the point I had to get back on the interstate. The traffic on I-81 in VA is pretty bad and much of the interstate is a designated safety corridor because of all the fatal accidents they've had. We fought increasingly difficult traffic all the way to Huntersville, NC about 15 miles north of Charlotte....

Ramtough's Travels

Apr 8, 2008 - Joe Gibbs Racing

From Fleetwood RV Resort at Lowe's Motor Speedway, in Concord, just north of Charlotte, North Carolina. From the Waltrip shops, we then went to Joe Gibbs Racing. If you are not a NASCAR fan, you might still recognize the name of Joe Gibbs…….as in the coach of the Washington Redskins, the three-time winning coach of the Super Bowl. He retired as the Redskin’s coach in the early 1990’s to form a NASCAR team. After several years of being out of coaching, he returned to the Redskins for 2-3 years, while his son continued to manage the racing...
