Oct 21, 2010 - The Last Week plus more

Sunday we walked along Atlantic Beach had lunch out along the front overlooking the beach. We were still sorting out our electric problem for part of the day, after changing sockets/fuses still not working so I phoned Ken where we had bought the RV from in Bakersfield California. Turned out there was another trip in one of the outside cupboards near the main cable, had tripped out, well we live & learn all the time it was not in the manual & nobody had ever shown or told us, we could have saved over $30 we had spent in fuses & switches....

Oct 21, 2010 - Holden Beach & Bald Head Island

Wednesday travelled to Holden Beach just a bit further along the coast. Booked a campsite but after talking to the guy I had a gut feeling we should not been going there, should have cancelled it. On arrival the dirt road was narrow with loads of trees not the space to take our big RV through, well we had to go with it then, he took us to our site to then find out after parking it up with difficulty that the electric cable would not reach, he said he had an extension which turned out he didn’t, so said he would go and buy one for us to use,...

Wandering America

Apr 27, 2007 - North Carolina April - May 2007

Holden Beach and Havelock were our next stops after crossing the border from South Carolina. Holden Beach is located just south of the historic port of Wilmington, N.C. We visited with friends and were able to park our RV right next to their house for our entire stay with them. We spent a very pleasant time and got to golf and even went out on their boat to cruise the inter-coastal waterway.
