Dec 31, 2013 - Southward Bound - 2nd Day

Monday, 30 December 2013 We started our 2nd day of travel at 8:40am. We traveled US17 from I-66 to I95, as always, we enjoyed the good road and gentle rolling hills, and arrived at the Enfield KOA, NC at about 2pm. Weather wise, it was a cloudy day, afternoon temps reached into the 50’s. No surprise that like us, we saw a good number of RVs heading south. We met friends for a nice dinner and conversation last night, a great evening out.

Feb 4, 2011 - North Carolina

We crossed the Virginia border and are staying at another KOA in Enfield, NC. Again...practically no other campers, so we are very private. Route 95 could be boring to other travelers, but to us it was wonderful. A really, really straight road! Usually I read books on trips, but I found myself just resting and watching the fields and trees pass by (well, when I wasn't unfolding maps to make sure we wouldn't miss an exit) but other than that, it was a mental peace that daily activity doesn't often allow. Al and I remember the years we...

Sep 26, 2008 - Heading South

Enfield/Rocky Mount KOA-Enfield,NC I woke up before the alarm went off this morning and was out of bed about 6:45. The weather was forecasted to be 100% chance of rain with high winds. It was not raining and the breeze was brisk...maybe 10 miles an hour. We were thankful for that since we didn't have to unhook in the rain. We had planned to get away about 9, since we had 355 miles to go for our overnight stop here. Just about 9 we were ready, and Mel and Pearl pulled up in front of the coach. They were on their way to the mountains for the...

Jun 6, 2008 - Enfield/Rocky Mount KOA is a nice park

It's time to move on, again. With Rebecca gone out West, Dave has had to learn how to secure all things inside before doing his usual routine outside. Eachtime he has done this he hopes that he didn't forget anything when he puts the truck into gear for the departure. So far, he's done pretty good, yesterday when he got to this location and opened up the coach, he did notice that the pot of coffee from the morning was not empty, sure glad that didn't move off the counter and spill. It would have been a big mess to clean up. This park is...
