Today we spent the day at the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC. This estate is part castle, vineyard, farm, park, formal gardens and much more. And along with touring this beautiful estate, we also learned about the Vanderbilt family who built it and whose heirs still own the property. The family history is interesting. Jun 12, 2006 - Waynesville and Asheville, NC

We crossed into North Carolina and stayed at the Pride Resort in Waynesville, near Asheville. This was right about when the tropical storm "Alberto" was threatening Florida, but where we were it was just cloudy and even helped us on the day that we toured the Biltmore House in Asheville. It's a beautiful mansion and called the largest house in America. Believe me, it's huge!
