Jan 19, 2010 - Our First Trip

We dreamed about RVing for fifteen years. Our plan was to get an RV when we retired and tour the country – footloose and fancy free. Whenever we’d see an RV drive past on the highway, we’d say, “That’s us! I wonder where we’re going today!” We would stop at RV dealers to look at them and dream, knowing that someday, in the far distant future, we’d do more than just look. Oct 18, 2009 - Chili Cookoff, North Carolina

Yesterday we went to a chili cookoff it was really good. It was all about a small community coming together and enjoying a day of cooking chili. Most of the booths doing the chili were raising money for different organizations, ie. Christian Bikers, Run for the Cure, etc. It opened at 9 am and we got there about 11:00 and we couldn't believe it a lot of the chili booths were already out. We talked to one guy and he had been back five times to try out chili from almost each booth and there were about 15 booths. So I have to say we hurried...

It soon became North Carolina's first port. Political rivalries, Indian wars, and piracy marked its early years but in 1746 Bath was considered for the colony's capital....

Oct 15, 2009 - Great Weather at Virginia Beach

Well we just finished a week at Virginia Beach which we enjoyed very much. The weather was between 75 - 80 most days we had a couple of days of showers and the evenings were cool. We spent quite a bit of time at the different beaches one had a huge boardwalk that you could walk for miles and it had a pier where you could fish from and areas where people were surfing. They had the week before we got there a sand sculpture contest and there were still a few left but what I couldn't believe is you could see the work these people must of done...
