May 27, 2009 - Around West Haverstraw

With the wedding finalized and the newly weds off on their honeymoon, we had time for field trips. It was a warm sunny day when we took the trip to Carmel, NY to visit Chuang Yen Monastery, the largest Buddhist Temple in the Western Hemisphere. The walkway to the main temple is lined with life-size stone statues of Buddhist masters and teachers. As you saw from the picture, Helen tried to assume the pose of one of them. May 24, 2009 - The Wedding

Today was the celebration of the marriage of Toby and Rebecca, Lois's neice. Joined by family members from Wisconsin, we gathered at Lois's sister Jean's home to help with preparation, celebrate, and spend family time. Our little home provides refuge when the activity level and excitement becomes too intense. At one point there were 9 women and 3 men in the house all together. What a buzz. But such a beautiful event the wedding was.

May 23, 2009 - Sam's Point Preserve

These pictures are from Sam's Point Preserve near Ellenville. The hike was challenging, but fun. We are now at the home of Lois's sister and her family. The excitement is intense as preparations for Rebecca and Toby's wedding bring us closer to Sunday.
