Oct 16, 2017 - Newark, NY

We arrived at Ralph & Becky’s house in Newark, NY on June 22, 2017. The site they installed on their property is our summer destination. As much as we love traveling the country it sure is nice to sit tight for a few months and be near family. We switch from the traveling/exploration mode to the routine living mode. This is the time of year we catch-up with our medical needs. It seems that each year the list of doctors grows, especially this year. Ralph had some medical issues which resulted in frequent visits to various doctors. The...

Oct 25, 2016 - Our Summer in Newark with family and friends

July 7, 2016 thru October 25, 2016 Arrived at Ralph & Becky’s home in Newark, NY on July 7th. As usual, we have a long list of friends and relatives to visit, activities to pursue and even a longer list of repairs and maintenance items related to our home on wheels. Our first priority however is taking care of our medical needs. Each year the medical needs increase, we suspect that has something to do with age. The list of doctors we use grows each year along with the frequency of visits. Other than the medical needs, we fell considerably...

Oct 27, 2014 - Newark, NY Visit

Once again we enjoyed our stay at Ralph & Becky’s house in Newark, NY. This year was a very fast but very enjoyable two months. Completing all our doctor’s appointments, spending some quality time with the kids, visiting family and getting some motorhome maintenance done doesn’t leave much time to visit friends. For all the friends we missed this time around, please accept our sincere apology; we’ll try again next year. It’s a sad state of affairs when the list of things we didn’t get to is substantially longer than the list of things we...

Aug 27, 2014 - Back to Ralph & Becky's

8/21 – 8/27 We arrived at HWH on August 21st for service on our jacks. Our last visit to this facility was on October 02, 2007 and we left singing the praises of a fine American company that go the extra mile to take care of their customers. Based on our 2007 memories, their customer service attitude and quality product production has paid off because they are considerably larger than our first visit. Our jacks were fixed right on schedule and during the final test an unrelated failure occurred. After several hours of diagnosis and repair...

Oct 20, 2013 - Depart Newark, NY

One of the attractions we went to this summer, is Sonnenberg Gardens, in Canandaigua, NY. Canandaigua National, our bank put on a luncheon for many of its depositors and as we were one of them we took advantage of the invite. As we had not been to Sonnenberg for many years, it was a delight to see it again. The bank had a couple of very large tents set on the grounds in front of the house (mansion) and after lunch we toured the house and some of the grounds. Frederick Ferris Thompson and his wife Mary Clark Thompson purchased the...

Jun 30, 2013 - Newark, NY

May 22 has us back at our personal site at our son and daughter-in-law’s house in Newark, NY. It is hard to believe another year has passed; it seems that we just left. Now is the time to make our way too many doctors’ appointments and catch up with relatives and friends. We look forward to spending time with our family and friends during the next few months. This is also the time for us to do some RV housekeeping and minor repairs. For us, the Finger Lakes region of New York State is a great place to be during the summer months but we’re...

After our Monticello, IN visit we headed back to our summer home-port at our son and daughter-in-law’s home in Newark, NY. We continued with our family and friends visits including a surprise visit from Utah residents, Carl and Ruth Mastin. Ralph worked with Carl for about thirteen years. The Mastins now have an RV and are having a great time traveling around the US. One of Pat’s closest friends Evelyn Schermerhorn, works at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), which is Ralph’s alma mater, and she invited us to tour the RIT campus....

Our daughter, Dee had never been to the Renaissance Fair in Sterling, NY, so Ralph and I with Becky and Ralph, went for the day. The five of us had a great time enjoying the fun entertainment and good food. But, best of all we spent time with each other. It was a fun day and we left tired but happy.

Aug 1, 2012 - Family Graduations

May 20 2012 thru July 2012. Family time, doctor’s appointments and RV maintenance. After several years of our A/C not cooling enough we discovered that the air duct from the basement A/C unit had split open. Caledonia RV and Winnebago said the fix required removal of the motor home’s end-cap. We reluctantly made an appointment to have the job done. After further investigation we found that the most serious damage and possibly all the damage was in the lower section where we could get to without the end-cap removal. With plenty of help...

Jun 16, 2012 - Our 50th Wedding Anniversary

What a wonderful summer we have had but we have ignored our journal.
