Jun 7, 2014 - Celebrating our 34th Wedding Anniversary

We had a full day today since we worked until noon and then attended the Country Living Fair. Afterward though we weren't ready to go home so we decided to head to the Best Buy in Kingston to see about getting a Cellular Signal Booster. This Best Buy was supposed to have them according to the online store, but they didn't. So we stopped at Radio Shack (Thank goodness for POI's on the GPS) and they had one. So $400 later including tax, we’ll see if we can get the cell phone to work better at the campground so maybe we can get or make a phone...

Nov 5, 2011 - Newlyweds and Those Approaching Altzheimers

So we are heading down the Northway to go to the wedding which is at 2 o’clock Friday afternoon. The night before I had gathered the clothes which were hanging in the closet together so we could just grab them the next morning and head out, planning to dress at Buzz’s sister’s house. I asked Buzz if he had hung up his suit, hoping he would get the message that that would be a good idea, and he said no. I headed to the bathroom and we went to bed. The next morning as we are driving along I asked if he had his bag with the suit in it, just to...

Aug 8, 2010 - Kingston, NY

Hi, We arrived in Wisconsin, Dells on Aug. 5th. We stayed at American Campground in the middle of town. The next morning I received a call that my mother was in the hospital & not doing good. We pack up & drove to Kingston, NY which is where she lives. I think every road in Wisc. is under construction. It took us 23 hrs to get here. My mother is doing a little better than she was the day we got here. She's 89 years old & is really weak. We're going day by day. We found Rondout Valley Campground which is about 18 miles away from the hospital...

Jun 1, 2010 - Reunion with high school classmates

Thanks to Facebook, a few high school classmates found me and made plans for us to get together for dinner. It was great meeting up with people I haven't seen in over 40 years! I was very shy and introverted in my younger years and so was thrilled that these classmates (and a few others) remembered me and want to see me! We had a great time catching up with each others' lives during a nice Italian dinner. I sure hope another meeting will occur this summer!

Summer in New York

Aug 4, 2008 - Now In Kingston, NY

The ride from Amsterdam to Kingston via Hudson, NY using Hwy 30 to 145 then along the Hudson River for a little while. The terrain was quite hilly, and heavily forested except for the farms, dairies and cute little towns. Most of them date back to the mid 1800s. It's like driving through a bunch of Julians or down Hwy 49 (Mother Load Road) behind Sacramento. The road along the Hudson River (Hwy 9W) is narrow and has two RR bridges at 12' 6", sort of wants to bend antennias.
