On this beautiful and warm afternoon, we went for a ride up to Hudson and the Olana grounds. Olana was built as a home and farm for Frederich Church, a landscape artist of the 19th century. We could see that the house has been restored and the grounds now have placards showing where outbuildings of his farm once stood. The view looking south is still phenomenal. The garden near the house is in bloom with Fall flowers - wonder how the gardens stay in bloom all year long, since it is small and compact! The art in the yard reminded me of the...

Oct 10, 2006 - It was a very good visit home

I spent three weeks here - longer than anywhere else since leaving Miami last March. I got my car tuned and fixed up, my finances straightened out, and my home checked on. I got my teeth cleaned, my eyes checked, and my body massaged twice! I learned trivia I didn't know before, traveled roads I hadn't been on before, and visited a park I hadn't gotten to in all my years in the area. I visited family, friends, and past coworkers. Aug 23, 2006 - Diane's Birthday

August 23, Diane's birthday While staying at Cairo, NY in the Whip-o-will campground the group was privileged to help celebrate Diane's XLVIII th Birthday.(She doesn't want anyone to know how old she is.) While being quite a few years younger than the rest of the Trekies and missing out on many of the discounts offered to those of us who have reached senior status, she said she wouldn't have it any other way. May 9, 2006 - In Woodstock, NY

Just catching up on some work in my sister's cabin in Woodstock, NY. It overlooks the Catskill Mountains and is surrounded by woods. Great working environment for a writer! Please let me know what you think of this Trip Journal site so I know if I should subscribe to it.
