Jul 12, 2013 - Last full day in New York

This was our last full day in New York. We headed into Times Square and had breakfast at Applebee's. We caught the subway to the south ferry to go to The Statue of Liberty. We were straight on to a ferry for the 15 minute ride to Staten Island. It was another hot day but we enjoyed wandering around the giant statue and taking snaps. The line to get off the island was huge, we had to wait at least 40 minutes, the ferries came regularly but the line was too long. Today we headed into the city and caught our tour bus to the World Trade Center memorial site. It was really busy, lots of tourists and building going on. They are replacing the twin towers , withnthe One World Trade Center (1 World Trade Center, 1 WTC, formerly known as Freedom Tower). It is the primary building of the new World Trade Center complex in New York City's Lower Manhattan. Jul 11, 2013 - Yankees v orioles

Today the girls and I went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art to see the exhibits. There were some amazing pieces that dated back to 500BC. We especially liked the islamic tiles, they were beautiful. There was too much to see and not enough time to see it. Brett went out to Yankee stadium to pick up our baseball tickets. We were rushing to get home, get changed and get to the stadium. I hailed a taxi to get us to the subway from the museum. He thought it was hilarious that we wanted a lift around the corner. It was grand Central Park though...
