We uprooted on Wednesday, June 18th and moved our RV to the little town of Phelps, NY. This town is at the north end of Seneca Lake, one of the eleven lakes that make up the Finger Lakes Region. Finger Lakes, so named by early map-makers , because the lakes are long and narrow and resemble fingers positioned in a primarily north-south direction. The biggest are Lake Seneca and Lake Cayuga, which are two of the deepest lakes in the US. The area is a major tourist attraction, especially for water activities. Sep 20, 2012 - A Visit with Luci and Desi

Today was to be a travel day but when we got to Jamestown, New York I talked Fred into going to the Lucille Ball Desi Arnaz Museum and Desilu Playhouse. Luci was born in Jamestown and it is said she was always a strong supporter of her hometown. We found a parking spot for the trailer and Tahoe and I had enough coins to put in the two parking meters and off we went. It really was a good laugh. Today I took Uschi on the Finger Lake Region Tour. If you see a map of the area you can see why its called the Finger Lake Area. We had already seen the Southern End of Keuka Lake when we were in Hammondsport earlier. We hadn't realized how big or long the lake is. The lake is 20 miles(32km) long and 1/2-2 miles wide at its widest point.It is 186 ft deep (57 meters).
