We decided to take a drive around the lake today in the afternoon. As we drove out we stopped at a cheese shop and got some great horseradish spread. Then as we drove into Mayvillle we saw the Chautauqua Belle loading up and decided to take the lake cruise. This is a steam powered paddle wheeler - one of 5 still operating in the US, the narrative was good and we went past the Chautauqua Institute - established in the mid 1800''s. 2017 trip

Aug 6, 2017 - Chautauqua lake and Desilu studios

We are in a great campground, as we were led to our spot it looked hilly and full of seasonal campers, then opened into an open area with nice long and flat pull thrus. Went into Jamestown, home of Lucille ball to visit the desilu studio and desilu museum. Jamestown was established in the early 1800's and the downtown has old architecture and character, many working class homes line the main highway.

Jul 27, 2015 - Lake Chautauqua, NY

Days 32 – 37 (July 21st through July 26th) Lake Chautauqua, NY Our move from Erie to DeWittville, NY on July 21st was short, only 59 miles, so we waited until 12:25 pm to start and we arrived in DeWittville at 1:45 pm. We setup at the Lake Chautauqua KOA. Brian’s original plan was to spend three nights at the Lake Chautauqua KOA and a week at the KOA in Watkins Glen. We had never been to Lake Chautauqua before and were pleased to find that the park was large, with good sites and excellent Wi-Fi-- the best Wi-Fi so far on this trip. So we...
